General Information

Welcome

This event is the winter series of our successful inaugural "Sunburn Six in the Stix" event. I welcome anyone to join me and Jim (see below) at the "Windburn Six in the Stix" 6-hour fun run, which will take place regardless of the conditions (Blizzard, sub-zero, you name it; we're there). Whether you're interested in kicking in the new year with a solid 6-hour run in the western Chicago suburbs, or taking in some of the potentially snowy landscapes, or to just support our friend Jim with his Arrowhead 135 training, this will be the day to do it and enjoy the camaraderie of your fellow runners. Come out and join in on the fun.

Fellow CHUG, Jim O'Brien , is training for the Arrowhead 135 ultramarathon, which is the polar opposite to that of the famous Badwater 135 race. This event takes place on February 1, 2010 and is a self-supported event. Jim's plans for the "Windburn Six in the Stix" is to do a 15 to 18 hour training run and he welcomes company at any hour of the day or night.

Since this is not an official event, there is no official registration and no formal liability waiver; however, the cap of our fun run is limited to the first 50 runners. Participate at your own risk. Don't push yourself too hard. Eat, drink, protect yourself from the elements, and seek medical attention when necessary.

We will be out there for 6 hours starting at 8:00 am. You are welcome to join for all six, for three, or for one. Remember, this is a self-supported fun run. Bring all the food, drink, and supplies you think you'll need. We look forward to seeing you there.

I ask that you please abide by all James 'Pate' Philip Park rules.
